Questions people actually ask
Is this what people mean by slugging?
Same principle, better ingredient. Slugging usually means a petroleum jelly layer to seal the routine in. Tallow does the same sealing job while also being something your skin recognizes.
Will I wake up greasy, or ruin my pillowcase?
Not if you use the right amount, which is much less than a normal night cream. Most of it absorbs within twenty minutes. If you are shiny at breakfast, you used too much.
Can I use it with retinol or acids?
Yes, and it is one of the better things to put on top of them. Apply your active, let it settle for a few minutes, then seal with this. Do not mix them in your palm.
Do I need a serum underneath?
If your skin is dehydrated, yes, because tallow seals moisture in rather than adding water. On damp skin straight out of the shower it works fine alone.
Can I use it in the morning too?
You can, but it is rich under makeup and SPF. Golden Radiance is the one built for daytime.
How long does a jar last?
Two to three months at nightly use, because the correct dose is tiny.
Does it go off?
Tallow is shelf-stable and does not need the preservative load a water-based cream does. Keep it out of direct sun and off a hot radiator.
