Most functional coffee is instant, because instant is easy to blend mushrooms into. If you own a French press or a drip machine and have no intention of giving that up, this is the version for you.
What is in it
Smooth dark roast coffee with Lion's Mane, the mushroom most associated with cognitive support, and Chaga, used traditionally for immune and antioxidant support.
Dark roast is a deliberate choice here. The deeper roast carries the earthiness of the mushrooms better than a light roast does, where they would sit oddly against the acidity.
Who this is for
Someone whose morning already has a coffee ritual in it. You are not looking to change how you make it, only what goes in the basket.
Who this is not for
If you want speed, buy the Morning Alchemy Instant. It is a teaspoon in hot water, it declares its percentages on the label, and it is cheaper.
If you drink light roast and single-origin pour-overs, a dark roast blend is not going to be your cup.
How to brew it
Exactly as you brew any ground coffee. Drip, French press, pour-over, all fine.
Pairs well with oat milk, and with five quiet minutes before the day starts.

Can I use it in an espresso machine?
Check the grind on the bag against what your machine needs. Most functional blends are ground for drip rather than espresso.
Does it taste like mushrooms?
The dark roast carries most of it. You will notice depth and a little earthiness rather than anything obviously fungal.
How much lion's mane and chaga is in it?
Check the current bag for the exact percentages. If declared percentages matter to you, the Instant version prints them plainly at 15% each.
Instant or ground, which should I get?
Ground if you have a brewer and enjoy using it. Instant if you travel, work somewhere without a machine, or want to know the exact mushroom percentages.
Is it less acidic than normal coffee?
Dark roasts tend to be lower in acid than light roasts, and some people find mushroom blends gentler. Individual experience varies.
